I decided to share some pictures from my Nigerian Traditional Itsekiri Wedding. In Nigeria, before a white wedding, a person’s traditional marriage is very Important and it is always beautiful because of the different cultures we have in Nigeria.

I loved my traditional marriage because I got to wear different beautiful outfits and it was perfect because I don’t have a lot I would have loved to change except take a perfect picture of my Yoruba outfit. Lol!

I am an Itsekiri girl from Delta State. I know some people have never heard of this tribe but we exist, we broke out from the Yoruba’s and so our languages are almost the same. My native name is Gbubemi and it sounds like a Yoruba name, and if you can hear Yoruba, you can hear a little bit of Itsekiri.

I loved all my outfits and my culture but this blue wrapper outfit with silver beads I was forced to wear it lol, I really wanted to make it a bit modern but my dad kept talking about tradition and how I have to come out for my bride price to be paid with this outfit and so I gave in. I love the outfit I just can’t wait to get a perfect picture of it.

I definitely had to wear an asooke which is the Yoruba traditional outfit (my husband’s tribe). I am so in love with the yellow asooke and the beads and just everything about it. Just so you know I can’t wait to wear the outfit again for an occasion(whenever that is) and get a perfect picture showing the details and everything.
